The Corbusier Chair by Le Corbusier
Chair £459 [CH3002A]
In 1928 Le Corbusier said "long live the good taste manifested by choice, subtlety, proportion and harmony" what a befitting memorium for such a talented designer who clearly understood the principles he preached.
Le Corbusier's background was in architecture and so it must have seemed a natural step to position the chair's frame on the outside and utilise it as part of the design's aesthetic. The result is a Bauhaus classic, instantly recognisable and appreciated now as it was then.
The Swiss were so proud of Corbusier and more specifically this design that they used an image of it to adorn their postage stamps.

Confusion Buster: As with all pieces featured on this site the Le Corbusier chaise longue is manufactured using full grain leather and not over printed top grain leather that is far cheaper and looks it.
The stainless steel frame is high quality steel that will retain its high shine finish.
